Tutoring Formats:
Hands-on Problem Solving
We will discuss challenging problem to identify your weaknesses and master the material. We can work through homework problems, sample problems from your lectures, or problems from appropriate textbooks. This is the style of tutoring you generally receive from campus tutoring center, with the advantage of working consistently with a single, experienced tutor to build your skills more effectively.
Lecture Reviews
We will review lecture notes, outlines, or topics to clarify and reinforce key ideas. This is an excellent option for those who can get overwhelmed or confused in lecture environments, or those learn more effectively in an interactive environment.
Mock Quizzes
Work through mock exam questions to build confidence and identify key weakness. If you are able to provide examples of your professor’s exams, we can create and review problems tailored to your needs that mimic the style and format you will encounter in your exams. By working through them together, we will prepare you to perform well on any exam. You will also receive a copy of the mock exam and answers to further enhance your studying.
Question and Answer
Bring any questions you have on the material and get answers from an expert. This format is less structured than the other options, but can be very effective for motivated students who want deepen their understanding of the material. Common questions include clarifications on specific problems or concepts, interest about how the material is applied in real world problems, how to keep concepts straight, or how to approach different types of problems.
